Prof. Dr. Said Yazıcıoğlu

He was born on 03.12.1949 in Sürmene, Trabzon. He completed his primary and secondary education in Milas. He graduated from high school in Aydın. In 1971, he graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Theology. After working in the Central Organization of the Presidency of Religious Affairs for a short time, he was sent abroad by the Ministry of National Education to do his doctorate.

In 1975, he did his military service. In 1977, he completed his Ph. He started to work at Ankara University Faculty of Theology. In 1983 he became an associate professor and in 1988 a professor. Since 1986, he has served as the Head of the Department of Kalām. He served as the Presidency of Religious Affairs between 1987-1992, as a member of the Council of Higher Education between 1993-1997, as the dean of the Faculty of Theology at Ankara University between 1994-2002, and as a member of the Board of Directors of the UNESCO Turkish National Commission between 10.05.1996-22.05.2002.

On 03.11.2002, he was elected MP for Ankara. He served as Minister of State in charge of the Presidency of Religious Affairs. He still continues to serve as an MP. He has many published works, copyrighted and translated articles and papers presented at various congresses and conferences.
