Prof. Dr. İbrahim Turhan

He was born in 1968 in Izmir. He completed his secondary education at Galatasaray High School and his undergraduate education at Boğaziçi University, Department of Business Administration. Mr. Turhan completed his master’s degree in International Banking at Marmara University Institute of Banking and Insurance with a thesis on “Macroeconomic Consequences of Public Sector Deficits and Their Effects on the Banking Sector in Turkey” and his doctorate degree with a thesis on “Financial Crises and Their Effects on the Real Sector: The Case of Turkey”, Turhan worked as a lecturer at the same institution during this period. Mr. Turhan, who has published in many periodicals in the field of financial economics, was the editor-in-chief and editorial director of two periodicals operating in the fields of banking, finance and financial technologies for a period. He is currently serving as a member of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey.
